Pubs & Bars are essential parts of a city's nightlife. Although night clubs in Xi'an are not aundant since the hip-hop culture is not popular in the city, there are hot atmosphere of night pubs and bars crowded along the short Nandajie, where you can also eat on the street as there are restaurants open past midnight. Especially in summer time, the area around South Gate is beautiful. East of it are nice bars with terraces and gardens: 1+1 (pronounced "yi-jia-yi" for the taxi driver) remains one of the most popular clubs and definitely the most popular amongst foreigners. Salsa, probably the most popular club, is your best bet on Fridays and Saturdays. The Castle Bar is a good place for business talk and dating. Defu Xiang, next to the South Street, is a lane with more than 20 coffee bars.

Ming De
A little far from downtown, close to the TV tower, in a large residential zone called Ming De Men zone that taxi drivers know. Or, take #713 bus, get off in Ming De station, turn to the north and go 100 meters, on the right side of the road, and you will find it (on the left side is a little school). Gay sauna, not well furnished or very clean, but lots of fun. Young crowd.

Every night there's a laser light and music show at the Music Fountain in the huge Square beside the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. This is wildly popular with locals and visitors alike, with up to 10,000 people coming to enjoy the music, and join in the festivities. Tang Dynasty Show at Tang Paradise, Xian
This is a wonderful performance inspired by court songs, dance and music from the "Golden Age" of the Tang Dynasty, in a world class theatre restaurant.
