Japan Pavilion is something like a castle in space, a living animal or an organ which is moving. In fact, it has all the things that you can think of.
In fact, the
Japan Pavilion has a theme, "Achieving Future Confidence through the Improvement of Our Living Environment by High Technology". It will be one of the biggest exhibition pavilions in Expo 2010 Shanghai China.
Japan Pavilion is height about 24 meters and taking up an area of 6,000 square meters. The silvery white is the main color of the exterior, which is "covered" by a "membrane", which consists of solar cells. Thus, a large dome has been formed and it looks like a castle in space.

It is seen as an exhibition hall that can "breathe" by itself. It is an extension of the idea from Aichi Expo 2005 Japan's theme "Nature's Wisdom" and an integration of "Better City, Better Life" theme of Shanghai Expo. By applying the environment control technology, the
Japan Pavilion makes fully use of light, water and air resources. The solar cells provide high efficiency lighting in the exposition hall. Fresh air circulation is being achieved by state of the art blowholes technology.
The overall structure is light and integrated so that the building process will have very less impact to the surrounding environment. The
Japan Pavilion can accommodate about 1,800 visitors simultaneously. Before entering the exhibition hall, visitors cannot foresee what they will see. They are entering a time tunnel that takes them back in the past, to the present and to the unknown future. Advanced science and technology, grand theater and state of the art robot will make travelers feel like in a curious and extraordinary atmosphere. The visual effects in the dome are changing from time to time with different extents. Different moods will have different feelings in the scene.
Japan has a great gift for China in this
World Expo. The Pavilion will reproduce the scenes of the events of ancient Japanese missions visited Tang Dynasty's China about 1,200 years ago to learn the profound culture and technology of the country. Chinese characters and traditional architecture will also be displayed.
In the exhibition hall, there are six display areas, including energy saving and purifying water technologies that will help the current global environmental problems. Additionally, the greenery on the rooftop and water source saving, which can be achieved by individual residents are being seen here. In the Exhibition of the Future, humankind’s hope is being depicted through a theatrical performance. All these things can truly match the theme "Achieving Future Confidence through the Improvement of Our Living Environment by High Technology", which is a clear statement of Japan's environmental awareness.
